Traditional easy chakkara pongali sweet recipe

Ingredients:-

  • Cashews-100 grams
  • Almonds-100 grams
  • Raisins-100 grams
  • Ghee-100 grams
  • Green gram-250 grams
  • Rice-250 grams
  • Jaggery-150 grams


Method/Preparation:-

  • Soak green gram(pesara pappu) and rice separately for half an hour
  • Now take a vessel add 4 table spoons of ghee and add dry fruits and chopped cocnut and fry it well
  • Meanwhile take a vessel and add green gram,rice and add 6 cups of water into it and cook well in pressure cooker
  • Now grate jaggery and add it to dry fruit mixture,now add some water and cook for 10 minutes
  • Now take cooked gram and rice mixture and add it to jagery mixture by stirring well and cook for 5 more minutes.
